Polyamory and ENM in Ottawa: groups, events and apps (2026)

Ottawa's polyamory and ENM scene is small, friendly and run by volunteers. The steadiest option is Ethical Open Ottawa, with monthly discussion nights and casual socials, and there is a younger group for 18 to 35s whose 2026 activity we could not confirm. LGBTQ2S+ social groups welcome poly folks too, and French speakers in Gatineau can join Quebec-wide workshops online.

Apps people in Ottawa use for ENM dating

Most people in Ottawa who date openly use a mix. Feeld is popular with singles and couples exploring ENM and kink. #open is built around ethical non-monogamy. OkCupid is a general dating app where many people say plainly in their profile that they are non-monogamous. Plenty of people also meet through the groups above and let things grow out of friendship.

Where Blend fits. Blend is a dating and community app built only for ethical non-monogamy, made by a small team in Ottawa. You can link partners (with their consent) and make couple and group profiles you manage together, so nobody has to explain their polycule in every chat. The Events tab lists ENM socials and lets organizers host their own, and there are icebreaker games to play with a match or a partner, such as Two Truths & a Lie and Would You Rather, where everyone sets their own comfort level. Messages are end-to-end encrypted. Blend is new, and Ottawa is our home city, so the local community is still growing: the more Ottawa people join, the better it gets.

Tips for meeting people in Ottawa

• Start with a discussion night. They are the easiest way in, and nobody expects you to have everything figured out. Ethical Open Ottawa asks new members to read its Safer Space Guidelines first, which is a good habit for any group.
• Treat groups as community first. Several Ottawa groups say outright that they are not dating spaces. Make friends, let attraction happen on its own, and take a no (or a maybe) gracefully.
• Protect people's privacy. Ottawa can feel like a small town, and not everyone is out at work or to family. Don't photograph, tag or name anyone without asking.
• Couples, show up as individuals. Talk to people one to one rather than looking for someone to join you. It is kinder, and it works better.
• Respect age ranges. TNG events are for 18 to 35s only; ask the organizers if you are unsure.
• Meet new dates somewhere public. Tell a friend where you'll be. In Blend you can set up a date plan with check-ins and emergency contacts.
